Coach * Guide * Truth teller

Casey Coleman

Hi! I work with people who are ready to tell the truth about where they are, understand the stories that shaped them, and make intentional choices about what comes next. My work lives at the intersection of story, transition, relationship, and becoming. I'm glad you're here!

About Me

For nearly two decades, I built a career in executive recruiting and talent acquisition on Wall Street. I have worked with leading investment banks including Morgan Stanley, Jefferies, Evercore, and Financial Technology Partners (FT Partners), as well as in executive search at Westwood Partners. I spent years helping top executives and rising leaders land roles, negotiate salaries, and shape careers at the highest levels of finance and fintech. Yet behind the résumés and offers, I saw a deeper story playing out: brilliant people struggling with questions like, "Why am I stuck?" What's wrong with me?" "Why can't I figure out what I want?" and "Why can't I find fulfillment, even in success?" I knew those questions intimately.

I now call Franklin, Tennessee home, where I live with my mini goldendoodle, Autumn. My house is filled with plants, paintings, poetry drafts, and probably more coffee than necessary.

Services and My Story

Today, my work lives at the intersection of story, transition, relationship, and becoming. I work with executives navigating transitions, women finding their voices in male-dominated industries, mid-career professionals considering entrepreneurship, young professionals building their careers, and college students trying to figure out where they belong. I help clients identify what they actually want, negotiate the salary they deserve, prepare for interviews and promotions, navigate difficult workplace dynamics, and make thoughtful career changes. But sometimes the résumé isn't the problem.Sometimes the question is: Why can't I advocate for myself? Why do I keep working for people who mistreat me? Why am I such a people pleaser? Why does no one listen to me? Why do I feel guilty for wanting more? Why can't I trust myself to make a decision?

My own journey in high finance was shaped by emotional blockages rooted in childhood trauma. For a long time, I believed success meant achievement, titles, recognition, and the next big thing. I knew how to achieve, but I didn't always know how to ask myself whether what I was achieving was what I wanted.
I also spent years hearing that you need to have "thick skin" to work on Wall Street. That phrase always bothered me. Eventually, I began to understand that some of my thick skin wasn't strength at all--it was survival. It allowed me to tolerate things I shouldn't have tolerated, ignore places where I was being hurt, and move through the world without the boundaries I needed.
Unfolding my own story changed that.Through more than a decade of doing my own work, I began to understand how experiences from childhood had shaped the way I worked, achieved, related, protected myself, and responded to power. Some of the patterns taht had once kept me safe were no longer serving the woman I had become. Storywork, psychodrama, coaching, and trauma-focused training gave me the tools to peel back those layers, recover more of my authentic self, and navigate my career and relationships with a clearer mind.

Storywork

At the heart of my work is this: helping people remember who they truly are, so they can show up whole, free, and fully alive in their careers, relationships, and lives.

I help clients become curious about the experiences, wounds, desires, relationships, and narratives that may still be shaping their adult lives. Not because I want them to live in the past, but because understanding where a pattern came from can give us greater freedom to choose if we want to continue living by it.I'm not here to telly my clients what to do or make their decisions for them. I'm here to help unjumble the noise so they can hear themselves more clearly.

I want my clients to uncover their true identity--not necessarily to become who they want to be, but to rediscover who they have always been underneath the expectations, adaptations, achievements, and roles they've accumulated along the way. The goal is agency: the abilitiy to make a change because I want to to stay because I choose to, or even to make no decision yet and trust that I am still okay.I will never ask a client to do something I haven't been willing to do myself, and I won't try to take someone further than I've gone. My coaching is grounded in my professional experience and training, but just as importantly in my willingness to continue doing my own work.
